Early Preview: Beta Black (working title)

I have been working on a comic series recently and decided to share some pages ;)

Untitled #1

Page 1:

Divided into four rectangular panels.

Panel 1- Black

1:1 - In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

Panel 2 - Black

1:2 - And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

Panel 3 - A fist (center) with index finder out, wearing a fingerless black glove with silver studs on the knuckles. A spark from the tip of the finger lights up a cigarette in the mouth of a unshaven face.

1:3 - And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

Panel 4- Lit cigarette in the same mouth, mouth twisted as if speaking.

Open it.

Page 2:

Four square panels.

Panel 1- Isometric view of a courtyard with a dirt floor. An army truck to one side and a small guard house on the other side. Soldiers walking around.

Panel 2 - A small black hole begins to open in the center of the courtyard.

Soldier: Hey... what the hell is that? (russian)

Panel 3 - The hole grows in size. Soldiers surround it.

Soldier: Something is coming through. Get ready! (russian)

Panel 4- The hole is large enough for 3 people to enter. Three people are exiting walking, one is being pushed on a wheelchair.

Soldier: Open Fire! (russian)

That's all i can show you this time!

Looking for an artist at the moment and i would really like someone who can draw like Mike Choi. He is one of my favorite artists along with Ariel Olivetti.

Here is some of his work:

  • Ignatius Black

The isometric view opening brought memories to life. Cloaks, quarter staffs, standing outside an inn….
Nostalgia is bittersweet is it not?
    I’m excited to see what’s next :)
